Alaró is a locality better know for its ancient castle
than any other traditional or artistic charm it may
have.
The village is built at the base of Twin Mountains named
Alaró and son Cadena. On the summit of the first are
located the remains of the famous castle whose origins
are dated back from the 13th century.
It isn’t hard to access the castle bur the last stretch
has to be done by foot, which is why excursionists
especially prefer the castle. Once on the summit the
views over the Serra de Tramuntana are breathtaking.
Of the original castle only remains the main door, a few
walls and a well. |
