The village of Costitx is surrounded by hills in the
region of Pla de Mallorca and located practically in the
very centre of the island. It is a tiny settlement with
less than 800 inhabitants that was founded in the Middle
Ages (13th-15th centuries). The main activity is
agriculture. The village has preserved the traditional
rural atmosphere of past times. Worth mentioning are the
small church, the well and the parish of Mare de Deu de
Costitx. Strolling along the streets is very enjoyable.
There is also an important meteorological observatory in
Costitx. |
