Escorca is a tiny built up area, hadly considerer a
villa, whose total municipality extension is over 140
km2 makin it the largest on Majorca. It covers a large
area of the most abrupt and also beautiful zones of
"Serra de Tramuntana". The village has about 200
inhabitants and its reduced size is part of its charm.
Interesting to visit is the parish church named San
Pedro de Escorca. Another important tourist attraction
found in the municipality is the Monastery Nuestra
Señora de Lluc. This monastery is considered the
spiritual centre of Majorca and is the destination of
numerous processions and popular and traditional
encounters year-long. |
