Situated in the Pla de Mallorca, in the island's centre,
it has a population of 1,655. It borders with Vilafranca,
Petra, Sineu, Lloret, Montuïri and Porreres.
The municipality acquired the status of Town in 1300
through the distribution plan of new villages by King
Jaume II.
It is said to be the village of Mallorca most dedicated
to agriculture. This includes both arable and animal
farming, with all the produce from either activity, such
as tomatoes in bunches and cold meats made from pork. |
